Low 'light pollution' challenge

With the presence of the Mount John Observatory, lighting restrictions are a critical part of all development in Tekapo in the Mackenzie Basin to protect the unique “night sky” from light pollution. At the Lochinvar and Mt John Subdivisions at Tekapo fittings are low ground planted bollards with diffusers to push light down to the ground.
