Cable Jointer - South Canterbury

As a Cable Jointer, you will be part of a team whose focus is to install, repair and maintain the underground electrical distribution within our network, covering the area between the Rangitata and Waitaki Rivers, from the coast inland to Mount Cook

What’s involved:

Undertake work involving the laying, jointing, termination of and repairs to power cables through the underground ducts and terminating them at electrical equipment.

We will be looking for someone who is:

  • An EWRB qualified Cable Jointer up to 400V & 11kv & 33kv,

  • Experienced in the operation of LV & HV switch gear preferred,

  • Experience in Paper Lead cables an advantage,

  • Current full NZ Driver’s License, 

  • Be prepared to be part of a standby faults roster,

  • And be able to work as part of a team or on your own,

  • Currently residing in New Zealand with the correct visa or residency.

Line Mechanic - South Canterbury

If you have experience in overhead line construction and maintenance, with a background in the electrical distribution industry, Timaru could be your perfect location for that great work-life balance.

 

As a Line Mechanic, you will be part of a team that builds and maintains the power lines as well as providing line fault repair services for NETcon; an industry leader when it comes to operating and maintaining electricity networks in the South Canterbury region.

 

We look after a dynamic network that covers the area between the Rangitata and Waitaki Rivers, from the coast, inland to Mount Cook.

 

What’s involved:

Install, replace and maintain overhead electricity distribution equipment, poles and pole-mounted equipment, i.e. transformers, fuses, switches, circuit breakers, conductors, insulators, terminations and connections etc.

  • EWRB Registered Level 4 Line Mechanic with a current practicing license,

  • Experienced in the electrical distribution industry,

  • Live line, glove & barrier qualifications and experience would be great,

  • Currently residing in New Zealand with the correct visa or residency,

  • Current NZ Driver's License, Class 4 preferred (minimum Class 2).
